In 1988, Mr Carecci Salvatore started out his Italian restaurant business with only three simple tables, producing fresh pastas, sauces and ingredients, in a small premise at Bukit Timah Road. The prodigy of his company, Pasta Fresca Da Salvatore Pte Ltd, has since then rapidly expanded business from its home base in Singapore to China and India. Now, Pasta Fresca has five restaurant outlets in Singapore located at Bukit Timah, Boat Quay, Changi Airport, Siglap, and Pasir Panjang.

In early 1993, Mr Carecci ventured into Shanghai, China and opened four outlets in Shanghai and one in Qingdao (Shanghai - Zun Yi Lu, Heng Shan Lu and Hong Mei Lu, Fang Dian Lu), (Qingdao - Middle Hong Kong Road). Recently in May 2006, India was included into the chain (Chennai - No 32 <Old No. 55> Thirumalai Pillai Road) all of which are fully owned and managed under the brand name of Pasta Fresca.

Pasta Fresca has its own production equipment in all its outlets, where pastas, sauces and ingredients are made fresh daily. Besides producing for its own use, it also caters to major F & B outlets and other related businesses. It also has its proprietary products of wine, tomato puree, coffee beans and olive oil, etc, which are specially imported from Italy. One testimony of its popularity is the numerous requests for catering for special occasions like wedding, company’s function, birthday, Christmas and New Year parties. A strong management and operations team supports all these on-going activities.

Pasta Fresca believes in providing the freshest ingredients in ensuring excellent food taste and hence providing pure enjoyment to its customers. Mr Carecci has succeeded in his business with this simple and proven formula and is now inviting potential franchisees to share and build further with Pasta Fresca the best in gastronomy, not only in Asia but internationally.

Pasta Fresca Da Salvatore (PFDS) is ready to further expand its business internationally through the Area Franchise Programme. In this programme, a franchise prospect who has a good business knowledge of a certain city and confidence in running Italian Restaurants in the city may undertake the Area Franchise from PFDS. With the franchise, PFDS would assist the Area Franchisee in the following areas:

1. Engage an Italian chef to manage its kitchen operations and ensure excellent food quality.

2. Offer a minimum of 1 month on-the-job training to the Franchisee and its key staff.

3. Guide as well as teach the Area Franchisee to manage the initial set-up and thus to ensure compliance with the franchise specifications. This would include renovation, initial publicity and the opening of the restaurant.

4. Give on-site management and technical support during the first 1~2 weeks of opening.

5. Supply the main kitchen equipment, operating equipment and critical food ingredients.

6. Advertise regularly through International media.

7. Develop new products and services.

8. Audit the service and product quality annually.

9. Provide business consultation.

The detailed package varies from country to country depending on the set-up cost. Thus, we are able to provide only the general framework of the elements in the package.

  • Initial Franchise Fee: The amount payable is US$30,000.00 per outlet up to six outlets. Additional outlets beyond the sixth are exempt from payment of the Initial Franchise Fee. This fee covers the right of the use of trademark and the initial assistance in the setup and training.
  • Term: 5 years, renewable.
  • Advertising Levy: The success of a business cannot be taken for granted. Advertisement is necessary to ensure continuous market branding. As such, the Franchisee must be committed to put aside a budget of approximately US$ 5,000.00 to US$ 10,000.00 per month.
  • Territory: This would be a city. The Franchisee is allowed to open as many outlets as he wants within the city provided it is self-owned. The basic requirement is to open 6 outlets within 5 years.
  • Development Schedule: The Franchisor and Franchisee would come together to deliberate on the ‘Development Schedule’ before the signing of the agreement. This schedule will spell out the number of outlets to be opened within the territory and the agreed time frame.
  • Renewal Fee: This will be determined by the overall business performance during the preceding franchise period. In general, it would be a small percentage of the average annual gross sales of the first six outlets during the contract period.
  • Franchise Royalty: This is a monthly fee payable by the first week of the following month, set at either US$3,000.00 per month or 5% of the gross sales turnover of the preceding month.
  • Standard Product: The Franchisee shall procure its supplies from the Franchisor and only sell the Franchisor’s products. Procurement from other suppliers is not allowed unless with the expressed and written approval of the Franchisor.
